Morning Maths

Work out who the imposters are from the maths questions below. Solve the questions to check which answers are correct. Can you write the correct answers for the imposters questions?

Your spellings this week are words that you should have learnt in Year 3 and 4. Use the strategies below to help you practice them. On Friday you will be tested on them.

The words this week are:

accident     actually   although     believe     bicycle     business

caught    centre     century     certain     circle     decide

Today’s aim: to use parenthesis.

First, watch the video below, which explains what parenthesis is.

If you cannot watch the video, there is information about parenthesis below.

Then, complete the three tasks.

Times Table Grid

Have a go at the times table grid below before you start your maths learning. Remember, you have 10 minutes to answer the questions.

Today's lesson is recapping multiplying a 2-digit number by a 1-digit number. Watch the video below to help you. When you answer the questions, use the method you feel comfortable using. This can be drawing place value counters, the area method or the written method.

There are two tasks for you to complete. Choose a reasoning task based on how you found the first activity. Mild is the easiest and hot is the hardest.

Guided reading

Look at the front cover. Can you make predictions about the book? Write at least 5 things in full sentences. Try to give reasons for your answers.

On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, Joe Wicks is doing live PE sessions on his YouTube channel. Can you challenge yourself to complete his lesson? The link to the videos is below.
