CLOTHING AND EQUIPMENT
We have a school uniform and we ask parents to support us by providing clothes in our school colours, which are red or white as follows:
Red sweatshirts or cardigan
Grey trousers, skirt or pinafore dress
Red or white polo top or white shirt
Our school was built in Victorian times, and we have steps, a narrow staircase, slopes and brick paths, all of which can be hazardous if unsuitable footwear is worn. Footwear should be black and plain, with firm soles, not more than 2 cm high with sensible heels not more than 4cm high.
This will, we hope, contribute to the children's safety and avoid unnecessary competition to wear the most fashionable items. Shoes with small, pointed heels are a hazard and cause damage to the floors. Again, with safety in mind, we cannot allow mules or beach shoes, such as flip flops or 'jellies.'
Art, Craft and Design Technology
Children in the junior classes will need protective clothing for these lessons. (Overalls are provided in infant classrooms) An old adult shirt, with shortened, elasticated sleeves, or an old adult size t-shirt are suitable. Children should bring these home termly for a wash!
Clothing for P.E.
In the interests of safety and hygiene, children must have a change of clothing for P.E. Lessons. Please provide black OR red shorts, white t-shirt or polo shirt and trainers. We request that Plimsolls not be worn as PE will often be outside all year round.
For activities on apparatus, children need to work barefoot for safety reasons.
Outdoor activities - children also need a pair of strong trainers and may also wear a tracksuit or sweater in cold weather. P.E. kit should be kept in a named draw-string bag, which can be brought in on a Monday and hung on a child's peg during the week, and taken home for washing on Fridays. Suitable bags are available from our uniform supplier.
Items embroidered with the school name and logo, can be ordered from Stitch-a-Logo either through the school, on-line at:
or from the unit at 12,13 Glenmore Business Park, Colebrook Way, Andover, SP10 3GQ. Please ensure that all clothing is clearly marked with your child's name including shoes and regularly checked. We try not to have “lost property” which we cannot return to its owner because it is un-named.
