Striving for Excellence in a happy, secure and Christian environment

This week, in science, you are going to be learning about how animals have adapted to their environment to survive winter. Watch the video of me talking you through the PowerPoint and then complete the activity below.

This week in PSHE we will continue to look at human rights. Work you way through the attached PowerPoint and then design and image or create a slogan which celebrates that human rights apply to everyone.

What is a parable?

  • Jesus knew that people loved listening to stories so he used a type of story called a parable.
    • A parable is an earthly story with a heavenly meaning.
  • Jesus chose very ordinary things to teach us about his kingdom e.g comparing the kingdom to a mustard seed, pearl or treasure.
  • Read parable of seed sower (PowerPoint attached)–Think of possible meaning

Watch this video to help you visualise the story.

Create your own story board. Divide page into 4 boxes.  Illustrate and write sentences.

Write an explanation of the message Jesus is giving when telling this parable.

Use this website to learn about how to speak about exploring the town in French and practice your speaking.

This week, in DT, you will be trying to strengthen an A4 piece of paper to hold weight. Record your results on the attached sheet below. Remember to take pictures and email them to me (Mrs Tate). I am looking forward to seeing how you choose to strengthen paper.

This week, in geography, you will be learning about the different layers of the Earth. You can find some more information about it on this website. You can also go through the PowerPoint to learn more.

You activities are labelling the layers of the earth and sorting some cards to describe each layer. There is also a home project about volcanoes which you can also do. This should take you 3-4 weeks and there will be prizes for the best 3.

I look forward to seeing all your amazing work.
