This week, in English lessons, we will be focusing on the writing an internal monologue from Theseus' viewpoint where he is thinking about going to kill the Minotaur or not. 



Monday English - 

In today's lesson we will be planning our internal monologue. Think about where Theseus is when he has these thoughts and write down what he is thinking about. Use the planning sheet below to help you. 


Tuesday English - 

Write the first draft of your monologue remembering to use rhetorical questions, first person and ellipses.


Wednesday English -  

Edit and improve your monologue based on the following success criteria. 

Success Criteria




I have included a captivating hook.




I have written in first person.




I have used the correct and consistent tense.




I have used ellipses (max 4)




I have used cohesive devices




I have included a rhetorical question.




I have included a climax with a suitable resolution (happy, sad, relief, open-ended)





Thursday English - 

Write your monologue up in best. 


Friday English - 

Today we are thinking about writing a monologue from the viewpoint of Ariadne where she is thinking about helping Theseus or not. Use the planning sheet below. 


Monday Maths - 

Today's lesson is simplifying fractions. Please watch this video and them complete the worksheet below. 


Tuesday Maths - 

Today's lesson is placing fractions on a number line. Please watch this video and them complete the worksheet below. 


Wednesday Maths - 

Today's lesson is comparing and ordering fractions. Please watch this video and them complete the worksheet below. 


Thursday Maths - 

Today's lesson is ordering fractions by their common numerators. 




RE - 

This week we are looking at the true meaning of Christmas. We will be looking at a range of different Christmas adverts by churches. Use the example below, create your own. 


History - 

This week we are learning about the battle of Marathon. Work your way through the powerpoint and the complete the activities. 


Science - 

This week we will be researching about Charles Darwin 1809-1882, Mary Anning 1799-1847 or Alfred Wallace 1823 – 1913. Write a biography about one of these famous scientists.
