Use the video below to access the story, The Runaway Wok. Last week we made a prediction and told Ming whether or not he should take the wok. Today we will watch the whole video / story to find out what happens.

Whilst you are watching the video see if you can think of 4 / 5 different adjectives (describing words) for the different characters. For example: clever, rich, poor, old, young, honest, evil, mischievous.

Now that you have heard the story and thought about how you would describe the characters, you should place each of them on a continuum lines. Explain why you have placed them where you have. See if you can use examples from the text to explain your ideas. There is a video below to show you how to complete this task.

Characters from left to right: Ming, Mama Zhang, Old Man, Mrs Li, Lan, Mr Li.

There will be a template for you to complete this activity on your Seesaw account or you can print the sheets below if you prefer.

PSHE
Use the template below to help you create your own "kindness bingo." Write a different act of kindness in each of the boxes and try to complete them by the end of next week. You could keep a "diary of kindness" alongside your bingo grid to record everything you do to make people smile.

To make people in your household smile you could offer to help tidy up, help with some chores around the house or even draw some pictures to show how much you appreciate them.

To make people outside of your household smile you could write a thank you card to key workers, phone a relative to cheer them up or raise some money for a local charity.

Design Technology (Part 1)
Today I would like you to design a dragon head which you can use in a "dragon dance."

Below you will find an example of some resources you would be using in school if we were completing this learning in class. Now we are at home, use whatever you are allowed from around your house to design your dragon head.
I have also shown you an example of a plan. There should be a drawing of your dragon head as well as labels to tell me what you will be using to create the head.
You can get creative at home and use the resources you have available. Draw a plan today to design your dragon head. Remember to use labels and explain which joining techniques and materials you will use to put pieces together.

Design Technology (Part 2)
Today I would like you to create your dragon head. Once you have completed it, test it out by completing your own dragon dance to some music. How strong was your dragon head? Did it stay together during your dance? What would you do differently next time?

You might like to watch a video of some dragon dancing below:

Geography

Today we will learn about some of the wildlife in China. More specifically - pandas! Use the power point below to find out more about Giant Pandas and then create your own panda fact file.

RE

Last week we focussed on the Christian value of love. Today we will think about another Christian value - forgiveness. Begin today's learning by listening to the song below. You can join in if you want to! Think about the lyrics and what they tell us about forgiveness and the sacrifice which Christians believe Jesus made.

Reflect on the following questions:
Has anyone ever done something to upset or hurt you? Did you forgive them? Was it difficult for you to forgive them? How did you feel once you had forgiven them?

For your main task today, draw a comic strip to tell a story about forgiveness. For example, you could draw a comic about a little boy playing football and accidentally smashing a window. You could draw him saying sorry for smashing the window and helping to fix it.

Science

Today in science, I would like you to investigate the following statement:
"The lighter the object the faster it falls."

Create your own experiment to investigate this statement. Use objects from around your house. You might need a phone or stopwatch to time how long it takes your objects to fall. It's up to you how high you want to drop things from.
Try to test at least three different objects and try to create a results table to show what you found out.
When you have conducted your experiment, write a sentence to say whether you agree or disagree with the statement.

Music
Our music lesson this week is from Oak Academy. This is a singing lesson which helps us to learn a little bit more about pitch. Try to join in with the singing as much as you can and copy Ms Boyd as she takes you through the different singing activities.
